Folake Odegbami is the Head of Safety, Health & Environment at Lafarge Africa.
She is a Chemical Engineer with an MSc in Energy, Environmental Technology & Economics from City University, London, UK and a B.Sc in Chemical Engineering from the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife. She is a Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner. A member, of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and a Chartered Member IOSH (CMIOSH)
She joined British American Tobacco in 2002 as a Quality Team Assurance Leader after which she worked as a HSEQ Advisor in the UK, consulting for different organisations. She joined Lafarge initially in 2010 as the HSE Manager at the Ewekoro Plant for a brief period of 4 years and later moved on to FLSmidth Jersey as the HSE Manager, Angola. Prior to rejoining Lafarge Africa in 2018, she was Company SHE Manager for Unilever Ghana and Nigeria.
For almost 2 decades, she has managed Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and Security in several countries including Nigeria, Ghana, Egypt, Angola, and the United Kingdom. She enjoys working within multi-cultural teams, coaching, guiding, leading and mentoring and is adept at managing regulatory stakeholders, and influencing top management and leaders across several industries, in multi-national organizations, at various project, operational and budget phases.
