Boye Olusanya, an engineer by training graduated from the University of Lagos, Nigeria with a B.Sc. (Hons) Civil Engineering. He subsequently went on to the Universities of Liverpool and Manchester, England where he obtained his M.Sc. Computer Science and M.Sc. Environmental Civil Engineering respectively. Boye also attended several management programs at the Lagos, London and Harvard Business Schools.
Boye started off his career over three decades ago as a Systems Administrator with Ove Arup 7 Partners. Over the years, he has served in several progressive roles in various industries including Structural Engineering, IT and Telecommunications. In September 2003, Olusanya assumed the position of Deputy CEO, ECONET Wireless, and subsequently, Acting CEO, Vee Networks Limited (Vmobile Nigeria), where he successfully managed the transition of the company to a new brand.
A driven leader with strong business acumen and adept risk management skills, Boye led Vee Networks Ltd. on the business strategy initiative for data services as well as key strategic and operational changes designed to establish a market presence and drive profitability. He particularly enjoyed this transaction for the complexity and breadth of issues which allowed him to display his core skills in Business Process Reengineering and Strategy Development.
Boye has had the rare opportunity of exploring different but inter-related career paths, that have contributed to his acquisition of an intricate skill set synonymous with a transformational leader. He was at a time the Managing Director of Dancom Technologies, a position he held until February 2013. Following his time at Dancom, he moved on to serve as Chief Transformation Officer at Dangote Industries Limited, a manufacturing Agro Allied conglomerate with 5 billion dollars turnover, operating in Nigeria and 23 countries in Africa, where he had the privilege of bringing his varied expertise to the fore. – He successfully developed “Project Phoenix” a Transformation programme that rolled out the redesign of the organization’s structure and functions within the corporate canter and business units. He championed the implementation of ISOP, a payment collection system with direct integrations with banks and switches to facilitate real-time transaction processing.
Until his recent appointment as CEO, 9mobile in July 2017, Boye was a Partner at GA Capital Ltd., a consulting and advisory firm which provides technical and financial advisory services to several privately-owned businesses and government parastatals, including the House of Representatives and the Senate. Under his leadership, stability has been successfully restored to the organization with the implementation of stringent cost control measures and operational efficiencies. He also anchored the ongoing sale process for 9mobile which is near completion.
Married with children, Boye enjoys playing golf when he finds the time.
