The theme of the event is Manufacturing in Nigeria at the Crossroads: Achieving
Industrialization and Self-Sustainability amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The Future of Manufacturing in the Niger Delta Digital Dialogue will bring together
leading manufacturing concerns as well as SMEs engaged in manufacturing that are established in the Niger Delta region to deliberate on, and project the outlook for the sector in light of the disruptions caused by the novel coronavirus pandemic.
It is a fact that the Niger Delta region plays a strategic role in Nigeria’s economic
Yet, due to decades of neglect, policy conflicts and insecurity investors
have had second thoughts about pumping and expanding investments into the
region. COVID-19 has created an urgency for fresh thinking among policy makers.
The crisis presents an opportunity for government at all levels, manufacturers,
financial institutions, investors and other important stakeholders to take stock of the
unique challenges facing the sector and map out ways to resolve them for the benefit of Nigeria.
